As the board moves South Island Plantation into the position of becoming a highly coveted luxury development to call home now is the time to consider volunteering. We want members to take an active role and help make decisions in shaping this community to not only safeguard that desirability but also to ensure property values grow and remain strong no matter what market conditions may arise over the years.
Presently we are seeking members to become involved in the areas below. To ensure this is a great experience it should be an area of interest that you enjoy doing. If one of these positions interests you, please email any of the board members and we’ll be sure to get in touch with you soon after.
BOARD MEMBER – Presently we do not have a vacancy but will in the future. To fit in, you should be even-tempered, member-friendly, and desire to help maintain the standards required to protect the community’s overall investment. A finance background would be great, or experience running a company that employs a good number of people. A strong desire for stewardship to others is also a good trait to have. Preference is that you live within a reasonable distance from South Island Plantation so you can visit the property on a regular basis and be more hands-on than has been in years past.
ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW BOARD – ARB board members strive to ensure that the standards set forth in building and maintaining the overall property and homes are held to a high standard, but not an extreme hardship on its members or builders. In the very near future, South Island Plantation will need revisions to the ARB guidelines, setting the requirements for the Preferred Builder program, and ensuring that builders follow the requirements as set in the ARB rules. Previous experience working with or on an ARB board or background in the building and/or design industry preferred.
